2005: CapGrow Is Founded
Founded by Matt Pettinelli with a goal of creating the best in class real estate solutions for the behavioral health industry. CapGrow acquires its first single-family home for an I/DD provider in Texas. This is the beginning of our “one home at a time” mission.
2009: CapGrow’s 100th Property
CapGrow acquires their 100th home which expands community-based housing to more than 500 individuals. Our initial mission to support the real estate needs of provider organizations across the United States signifies a tangible impact.
2019: CapGrow’s 500th Property
As a the key real estate partner for a regional I/DD provider, CapGrow was asked to assist in an M&A opportunity in Texas. Our 500th home was acquired as part of a 25 property acquisition valued at $5.4 million.
2020: CapGrow’s Largest Acquisition
CapGrow acquired the largest number of homes in a single transaction. The sale/leaseback included 308 homes spanning 14 states and valued at $87 million. This opportunity significantly broadened our national footprint.
2023: CapGrow Recapitalizes
CapGrow recapitalized into a non-traded REIT expanding our access to committed capital and further enabling our exclusive commitment in community-based housing investments for behavioral health providers.
2024 CapGrow Breaks a New Record
This sale/leaseback totaling $102 million with a mental health treatment provider marks CapGrow’s greatest monetary investment in a single deal. This opportunity diversifies our investment in mental health services and supports in California.
2025: CapGrow’s 20th Anniversary
CapGrow is honored to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Years of longevity-informed, strategic partnerships have enabled mutually beneficial relationships with 70 providers, spanning 42 states, caring for more than 5,300 individuals in 1,300 leased properties. Meet our behavioral health partners.
